Cold Weather team
Based in Everton, The Whitechapel Centre is a voluntary organisation providing services which seek to improve the quality of life of people who are homeless or in housing need by providing tailor made support which allows people to change their lives and attain their potential.
We are currently looking to recruit a number of staff to our Cold Weather team which aims to provide
a night centre service, shelter, warmth and food, when trigger temperatures are hit.
Applicants must be able to work flexibly, on an ad-hoc basis, across the winter period including Christmas and other Bank Holidays, often at short notice. Once trigger temperatures are forecast, a team will be drawn together from a bank of available workers who must be able to demonstrate the ability to handle incidents, gather basic information, and provide emotional support to individuals sleeping rough.
All shifts will be 8pm to 8am (12 hours). Some experience of support work will be essential. Experience of cold weather working will be a distinct advantage. Contracts are offered on a zero hours basis. Shifts are remunerated at the rate of £108.33 per night worked.
