Our Rough Sleepers’ Outreach Service provides assertive outreach support to prevent and eradicate rough sleeping and achieve the ‘No Second Night Out’ Standard across the Liverpool City Region (Merseyside). The Standard aims to ensure that by the end of December 2012, no one will live on the streets of the Liverpool City Region and no individual arriving on the streets for the first time will sleep out for more than one night. To achieve this we offer one-to-one support to people aged 16 or over who are rough sleeping, living in a squat or are threatened by homelessness.
We understand that the reasons that lead someone to sleeping rough can be varied and complex. Our aim is to provide people with a range of options that will help them come indoors, make positive changes in their lives and find a route out of their situation.
The Outreach team see rough sleepers at our Enablement Centre during core office hours (Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm) and also during morning and evening Outreach on the streets of Liverpool.
If you have seen someone sleeping rough in Merseyside please contact The Whitechapel Centre on 0151 207 7617 or on 0300 123 2041
