If you are a service user there are several ways in which you can get involved in helping to improve services you receive.
Whitechapel Altogether is a service user group that meets on the last Friday of every month to discuss and take part in various activities and issues to do with the running of the Whitechapel Centre. This group provides a forum for any current or former service user of The Whitechapel Centre to take part in its development, share their experience and develop new skills.
Whitechapel Altogether launched its first newsletter in January 2011 and further editions are produced quarterly.
Here are some of the activities the group has taken part in:
Agreed an action plan for the group.
Agreed a budget for the group and looked to fundraise to cover costs.
Agreed a set of ground rules to ensure meetings run smoothly.
Training in Whitechapel Services.
Opportunity to have a go at chairing a meeting.
Attending other meetings and feeding back
Reviewing policies
Reviewing services
Being involved in development of new Whitechapel Services.
Taking part in fundraising walk.
Fundraising initiatives.

Your Support Plan Make sure that you are always involved in writing your personal support plan and make the decisions that affect you.
Funders’ Consultation From time to time our funders ask for feedback from the people who use our services. These are ideal opportunities for your opinions to be heard and for you to influence how services are delivered to you in the future and what services are available. Ask your support worker to tell you the next time one of these opportunities arises.
