When Jane (not her real name) left hospital after an operation she was homeless and placed in a hotel out of Liverpool. She struggled and after our intensive support worker Deb got involved, she wrote to us: “I just want to say how amazing and wonderful Deb is! Without her I wouldn’t have been able to do anything. She has made me feel so happy and made this process the easiest it can be for me.”
Deb explained, “Jane is in her 20s. She wasn’t coping. She doesn’t have close family and just a few friends. She struggled at the hotel as she had no way of washing her clothes. I found a laundrette and helped her to get her clothes there to wash. We were eventually able to get her moved back to Liverpool and housed. We helped her with furnishings and white goods and she has settled in so well and put her own flooring down. She is so grateful for the support even the little things - such as pictures, rugs, and coffee tables - which has helped her make the flat her home.”
Jane concluded, “Deb has gone the extra mile with me, she has made me feel so comfortable and I wouldn’t be here without her.” .
