Where?: This opportunity is based near Sefton Park in L17, at a residential hostel for men.
When?: Shifts for this opportunity are Monday – Friday, 3pm -6pm.
What will I be doing? You will be supporting meal provision at our Harm Reduction Service, a residential hostel for males who are alcohol dependant. Supporting our Chef, you will help with food preparation for cooked meals, desserts, and batch cooking. Additionally, you will support our Chef in the running and maintenance of the kitchen area, including helping with cleaning duties and washing up, stock takes & food rotation, food hygiene related paperwork and helping with food ordering.
What do I need to do this? This role requires you to be reliable, empathetic, non-judgemental and approachable. A strong awareness of confidentiality, and an ability to respect a person’s sensitive information is required as well. Also, having some resilience is important, as our residents can present with challenging behaviour. Although experience of working in a kitchen would be useful, this isn’t required as you will receive all necessary training. You will have (or be willing to work towards) a Food Hygiene Level 1 certificate. You will also need to be aged 18 or over.
