Christmas is a very busy time of year for us, both in terms of the people we are helping and for the amount of donations of toiletries, food and clothing we receive. During this time was are looking for some extra help so we can give our Service Users as good a Festive Period as we possibly can.
Christmas Elves Our Christmas Elves are volunteers with availability between November – January, who are able to help us sort, transport, and distribute donations to our Service Users. Christmas Elves are needed at a number of different sites, including the Whitechapel Centre on Langsdale Street, and our Offices on Fox Street. Christmas Elves don’t need to attend our full New Volunteer Training course, but are asked to apply below and attend one of our Briefing Sessions.
Wednesday 23rd October 12pm -2pm Thursday 7th November 2pm -4pm Monday 11th November 12pm -2pm Tuesday 19th November 10am -12pm Friday 29th November 3pm -5pm Wednesday 4th December 12pm -2pm
The volunteers will:
Receive donations from members of the public
Record donors details
Manage and maintain stock levels of appropriate items at our open access centre
Distribute donations to our clients in the centre and to other venues
Vehicle owners could help by distributing items to our various venues around the city
Administration to support our fundraising and volunteering team
Must be able to work at least one 3 hour shift, ideally: 10am-1pm or 1pm–4pm (weekdays and weekends)
Fit and healthy – this can be a physically demanding role
First class communication and customer service skills
