for people sleeping rough
We offer a range of services for rough sleepers, many of which are based at our Langsdale Street centre. They are all aimed at helping individuals find a route out of homelessness and enabling them to make a positive change to their lives.
We operate an Open Access drop-in for those sleeping rough where breakfast, showers and laundry facilities are available. Our bank of Triage workers ensure people are signposted to a range of our services, including housing & welfare rights advice, education and training, employment advice, volunteering opportunities and medical services. You are classed as “homeless” if you are sleeping rough, staying with friends (sofa surfing), squatting, staying in a hostel, or are in poor quality, overcrowded housing. If you are at risk of sleeping rough please visit our Langsdale Street Centre. You will be seen by a Duty Adviser. You may be given an appointment to return and see our Housing Adviser if we feel a longer appointment is necessary. If you need a bed and we are able to identify a suitable hostel vacancy for you, we will refer you to that hostel. We will also tell you about other services that we can offer you and, if appropriate, refer you to another agency e.g. Liverpool City Council's Homeless Service or directly link you to the most relevant service at The Whitechapel Centre which meets your needs. We know there is no simple, “one size fits all” answer. All of our support is free and confidential and begins with an informal discussion to assess your situation and needs. |
