Who can use this service?
The New Beginnings service is only available to users of the Liverpool Waves of Home programme, which is aimed at those who have had difficulty engaging with services or have been excluded from services in the past. It aims to end the pattern of people moving in and out of different services none of which fully address their issues.
It is for over 18's who are experiencing 3 of the 4 following issues:
firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone on 0151 702 9060.
The New Beginnings Project is part of the Waves of Hope Programme offering support to people in Liverpool who experience mutiple and complex needs. We work with adults (18+) who must have needs in three of the areas of Homelessness, Mental Health, Substance Misuse and Offending.
The New Beginnings Project provides clients with a menu of formal and informal learning opportunities / activities with a long term aim of supporting clients into mainstream learning, volunteering and employment. Short term, we begin by building confidence and motivation as well as helping clients to learn new skills and increase social inclusion.
The staff team can offer intensive support to help clients access existing group activities, but where these activities don't exist (or if they don't take place at a time and venue which meets the clients needs) then we can broker bespoke provision (we have a budget for this). If the client is not ready to take part in group activities then we can organise training on a one to one basis. We are also able to support clients to overcome barriers which might prevent them accessing services such as travel or equipment costs.
The New Beginnings service is governed by a Service User led Steering Group with a Service User chair. The design of the programme, its processes and procedures and the detail of activities provided have been co-produced in conjunction with Service Users as a group and on an individual basis. This ensures that learning and activities are tailored to individual needs.
