It's really important to us that we always look at how we can work with the local community to support vulnerable people.
You can visit the 'What We Do' section of our website and find out about all the projects and services we deliver for people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, in Liverpool and across Merseyside. |
Throughout the year your church or faith group can help support people who are homeless across Merseyside. There are lots of ways your group can support us. Here are some examples:
Increase awareness of The Whitechapel Centre and our Always Room Inside phone number. Host a collection to raise money for The Whitechapel Centre so that we can help more people who are homeless. We can provide posters, information leaflets and gift aid envelopes.
Organise an event - an Easter Festival, book or cake sale, Harvest Festival, Christmas Concert or a sponsored hymn sing. Join one of our events - we organise key fundraising events throughout the year including sleepouts and our Big Boss Brekkie that you can take part in to raise vital funds. Collect unwanted items for our service users. Food, clothing and toiletries are used in our centre for rough sleepers or sold in our shop. Find out what we need by visiting our donations page. Donate a “home starter pack” for someone as they move into their new home – a kettle, microwave and some crockery would make a fantastic moving-in gift. Volunteer to cook breakfast once a week in the centre, join our befriending service for some of our lonely and vulnerable clients or place collecting cans in local businesses in your area. |
