When?: Shifts are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10am – 12.30pm. 12.30pm -3.30pm.
What will I be doing? Working in our Donations Service, you will be receiving donations from members of the public, and sorting through donations of clothing, bedding and household goods. You will also support our Emergency Food Provision, helping to put together food parcels for delivery to our service users. This includes helping to receive and unload incoming donations, sorting our stock of donations, checking expiry dates, and packing food parcels. .You will also put together clothing parcels for our Service Users.
What do I need to do this? For this role, it is useful to be organised, comfortable in making decisions, as well as friendly and approachable. Being able to appreciate the kinds of clothing that are suitable and appropriate for our Service Users is helpful as well. Enjoying sorting is a must for this role! It can be quite a physical role, and can involve some lifting of bags of donations. You will also interact with the public who support us with donations of goods, so being comfortable representing the organisation in a friendly and positive manner is important too. This is a dynamic role, and the level of activity is dependent on the donations that come in at any given time – so sometimes it may be quiet, and other times quite busy, so you’ll have to be happy shifting pace depending on what’s happening. But most importantly, being happy to get stuck in and help where needed. You’ll also have to be over the age of 18.
